Hiya! I'm Iain, a Scottish climate & nature campaigner, organiser, and disruptor, based in Charlottesville. I use this site to share reflections on a changing planet and her people.
So this is me…
Global climate campaigner, all round environmental activist, aspiring gardener, fly fishing fanboy, whiskey aficionado, @patagoniaeurope change maker. Charlottesville based, 🏴 born.
I’m the Executive Director of the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group (CECG), a collaborative platform that brings together philanthropists and movement leaders to coordinate strategies, prioritize gaps, and deploy funding to strengthen and sustain the global climate movement. Prior to CECG, I spent 13 incredible years helping build one of the world’s leading campaigning organisations, Avaaz.org. Joining as an intern in a scrappy start-up, I grew to lead Avaaz’s climate and environment team spread across 30 countries on 4 continents, and oversaw hundreds of campaigns from winning regulations against bee-killing pesticides, to winning marine protected areas and the Paris Agreement. I’ve also helped coordinate several mass global public mobilisations on climate change including the People’s Climate March. Prior to Avaaz, I worked at the UNDP briefly, following my Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Columbia University.
I use this site to share reflections on all things climate change - from policy, to politics, and society. When I’m not campaigning to solve the climate emergency, I'm usually standing in a river with a fly rod, blissfully gardening, or swearing at the TV while watching Arsenal FC. If you like what you read, get in touch.
Thanks for stopping by.
